Thursday Jan 20th

11s - Act One test on Monday worth 40 marks.  Part One - Plot Summary, make sure you go over what actually happens during the Act.  Part Two - Quotations, you will be given 10 quotes and asked to choose 6 on which to identify the speaker/audience and write the quote's significance and what it reveals about the speaker.

10s - we will be writing a paragraph on the theme in "To Build a Fire" on Monday.  READ your independent novels over the weekend!  Term 2 independent novel assignment to be revealed next Friday the 28th.

11s- Today we spent time in 1.4 and 1.5, you have all met Lady Macbeth...isn't she fantastic?!?
Please complete the questions (good copy format) for 1.4 and graffiti the text for 1.5.  Next up Lady Macbeth's 'unsex me' speech, 1.6, and 1.7. 

Act One Test Mon Jan 24th.  READ READ READ your independent novel.

10s-READ READ READ...your independent novels...  We'll be finishing "To Build A Fire" on Friday and taking a close look at how to isolate the theme of a short story.

Friday Jan 14th

11s-  For Tuesday complete in good copy format all of the questions assigned so far...so 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.  You all received a completion mark, but will receive a mark for accuracy when you hand them in on Tuesday.

10s-  Please complete the "To Build a Fire" vocabulary chart for Tuesday in preparation for the story.

Time to start posting again! 

11s - independent novels for term 2 should be chosen, get into your book asap...term 2 independent novel project awaits.

Macbeth, we got into 1.1 today and there are four questions that you need to complete for Friday (I can guarantee a homework check).

Preview 1.2 and 1.3 prior to Friday...particularly the blood/violence references in 1.2 and how Macbeth and Banquo react to the witches.

10s - we read two versions of the same story today, from two different points of view.  Complete the story chart for these two stories. 

Study for the short story elements test on Friday.
