Friday Feb 18th

11s - we spent time today on Letter Essays and Macbeth Promptbook Projects.  Letter Essays are due on Thursday Feb 24th and your Macbeth projects are due on the 28th.  Reader's Workshop on Thursday Feb 24th...make sure you have an independent novel.

10s - we spent time today on Letter Essays and Short Story Projects.  You will have Tuesday to work on your projects.  Reader's Workshop on Thursday Feb 24th...make sure you have an indepdent novel.

Wed Feb 16th

Term 2 is almost over, tying up loose ends and making sure you have all your work in asap is crucial.

11s -
Today 1/2 of our time was spent on Letter Essays, while the other 1/2 was spent on Macbeth projects.  We will do the same thing on Friday.

Today 1/2 of our time was spent on Letter Essays, while the other 1/2 we worked in the library and learned about why Wikipedia isn't a reliable source of information.  We also took a look at better search engines.  Your story seminar groups should have a good idea about what 3 researchable topics/issues that are related to your story you plan to investigate.

Happy Valentine's Day!

11s-  Macbeth Prompt Book (MPB) - your Company Report and close reading should be done!  Next up - set design and character report. 

ALL CLASSES!!!!  Next day - 1/2 class to work on your Letter Essay (DUE FEB 24th), bring your letter essay handout and the independent novel you are going to write your essay about with you to class on Wednesday.

10s- Short Story Seminars (SSS) - groups have all chosen stories and had a chance to read their stories today.  For next day you need to read/reread your story and come to class with 3 topics/locations/names etc. that are related to your story that you can research next day.

Wed Feb 9th

Looks like the next few weeks are going to be very very busy! 

11s- today we peer edited Lady Macbeth paragraphs and got ready to hand final copies in on Monday Feb 14th.  Please hand in your drafts/outline/peer edit sheets to your good copies.  Good copy format rules apply.

Macbeth Prompt Book (MPB) was assigned today too...each class you will have a specific task that needs to get done during class.  Next day (Mon Feb 14th) you will be responsible for your company report, and your close reading of the scene...make sure that you bring in a clean copy of your script to class so that you can do a close reading with your group/partner.

Letter Essay Due Feb 24th!!!!  Get organized!

10s- "Harrison Bergeron" Day 2 - we finished the story and moved into small groups to do a second reading and help each other work through vocab/literary devices/questions.  Due Monday: "Tell Tale Heart" plotline, story chart, "Harrison Bergeron" worksheet.

11s- Today we watched and read parts of 2.1, 2.2, 2.3.  We learned about pathetic fallacy and noted how Shakespeare uses this to add depth and meaning to the play.

You are responsible for bullet point answers for 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3.

Next day you will be writing a paragraph that is based on one of these questions.

10s-  Today we read "The Tell Tale Heart" by E.A.Poe.  The story is a wonderful example of suspense writing!  Next up, you will all write a suspense paragraph based on an everyday occurrence- using the techniques that Poe employs.
