The 2011-2012 School Year Begins!

Welcome back! I hope you had a wonderful summer break and are looking forward to the possibilities of the school year ahead.  I plan to post what is going on in class so that students and parents can keep on top of assignments/tests etc.  Plan to check this blog regularly for updates, helpful links and resources as well as upcoming dates.

September 7th - Welcome to English 10/11

Today we talked about the course and what to expect this year.  Students need to submit parent/guardian slips to me on Tuesday Sept 13th and have binders set up and ready to be checked (binder check is worth 5 marks).

Get ready for Silent Reading/Independent Novels by choosing/finding a novel that you're interested in reading.  All students are expected to read for 30 minutes each day...remember that this is in addition to any Silent Reading at school.

***The first 5 students to post a comment on this blog after 3pm and identify their favourite novel will be awarded a bonus mark to be applied to their mark on the first test this term (date tba).  You must state your first/last name and block, in order to enter...only the first 5 students from each block who post a comment and identify their favourite novel, state full name and block after 3 pm will receive a bonus mark!
