Friday Nov 18th

11s - Today we began Sinclair Ross' short story "The Painted Door".  We talked about how the setting and symbols are very important in order to fully understand the story.  Students began filling in yellow story frame today.

overdue:  SMART Reading for "Gentlemen Your Verdict"  goal: to summarize, to create images

10s - Quick quiz today and then a discussion of the complexity of Shakespeare's language.  We took a few notes down:  iambic pentameter, blank verse, prose, verse, rhyming couplet

We went through 1.2 and 1.3 and explored the relationships between Nurse, Juliet, and Lady Capulet...and noted a few more dirty jokes.

Bonus marks available for students who attend play - see previous postings for details...

Tuesday - all classes are booked for a work period for the Visual Response Project - come prepared!

Have a great weekend!
