10s-

We began by looking at the three types of irony (verbal, situation, dramatic) and looked at and listened to "Ironic" by Alanis.  We discussed the various types of irony she includes (or doesn't) in her song.

Suspense Paragraph - drawing inspiration from "Tell Tale Heart" and E.A. Poe write a suspense paragraph about an everyday event.  Paragraph should be 10-12 sentences and use various suspense techniques.  You can write about an everyday event as mundane as emptying the dishwasher or waiting for the bus...but you must make use the suspense techniques we've explored.

Rough copy due Wed Feb 22d, Good copy + rough due Fri Feb 24th.  ***remember, no "it was a dark and stormy night" think of your own ways to create horror and suspense in your writing***
