11s- Today students wrote Journal Entry #5 "Man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains." J. J. Rousseau We talked with each other about what this quote means and how and where we see this in our lives. We also took a close look at what some important quotes in Chapter 10 reveal. I chose 5 quotes, students were asked to choose an additional 3.
Homework- finish reading LOTF. 1-1 you have a quiz on Tuesday based on Ch10-12, 1-3 you need to choose 10 quotes from Ch 11/12 (5 from each) and explain what each reveal. Follow the same format we used in class today.
10s- Today students had more time to work on "To Build a Fire" vocab before answering an opinionnaire about prompts that relate to the story. We began reading "To Build a Fire" stopping a few times to clarify and notice important ideas/concepts.
Homework- finish 'Fire' vocab...word/definition/your own words and/or picture
